About Joe Warren
My pursuit in fly fishing has been a life long journey to many fresh and salt water locations, whether it's back packing into high country lake or fly casting from a panga into a blue water ocean. As a resident in Carson, WA, next to the Columbia River, I have taken advantage of what it has to offer to catch resident and sea-run fish, ranging from smallmouth bass to chinook salmon. My career as a biological science tech at a fisheries research lab provides beneficial knowledge on the Columbia River fisheries.
With skills in outdoor photography, I have published many fly fishing articles featuring destination and how to stories. I have two published books on fly tying, Tying Glass Bead Flies and Fly Tying With Poly Yarn. Over the years, I have made numerous presentations on fly fishing and tying to fly clubs, and fly fishing and sportsman shows. You are likely see me tying my favorite fly patterns at the annual Northwest Fly Tyer & Fly Fishing Expo in Albany, OR. I am a member of the Daiichi Hooks pro staff with Angler Sport Group.
Using my fly fishing skills as a ministry, I co-founded and organized Christian Fly Fishing Retreat, a weekend camp ministry for men and boys since 2000. Click the link to read all about this special event and consider being part of this wonderful fellowship that has enriched lives through Jesus Christ while sharing and learning exciting topics of fly fishing and fly tying.
I welcome the opportunity for fly fishing and tying presentations, please contact me for details.
